Over recent years i have been well supplied by sponsors with ALL that the normal Race Bike requires . Of course over that period , i have made occasional visits to Ebay , to keep an eye on prices . Racers do not utilise " SPD type Pedals" , so that is one item i have been thinking about replacing , as the foot will occasionally slip out on a climb , disrupting the cadence .
Thinking that all was in order , when i accessed both my Ebay A/c and Paypal A/c , i proceeded to bid on a few items . Missed a few & won a few , nothing of great importance and certainly not a great amount of money . Being in Austria and my receiving point in the UK , not being available whilst they are over here skiing , i advised the " sellers " , that delivery should be held back for two weeks .
Friday i proceeded to access the paypal so as to PAY ALL transactions , at the same time , each entry on a BANK A/c being a source of Finance to the " FATCATS " these days . Don't you feel sorry for them now that their " Bonuses " are Capped/ limited to equal a Year's Salary ? Finding that the PAYPAL access was blocked , i fired off a request for assistance .
This morning i awoke to their response :

Whenever you add or edit a card on your PayPal account, our card processor will temporarily place a $1.00 USD (or £1.00) charge on your card as part of this authorization process.
In your case, your card issuer or bank is declining the temporary authorization charge for your Visa debit card ending in XX21. To immediately resolve this, I'd encourage you to contact your card issuer or bank and speak to someone who deals with online transactions to find out exactly why they declined your card and whether you can use this card for your payments. Please note that the general customer service at your bank may not be able to provide specific information. You will need to contact the department in charge of online payments to obtain this information (which is your card issuer’s "Online Authorisation Department"). "
YES , my bank , is going to get out of bed , on Saturday , to deal with this inconvenience !
