PAYPAL : A Nightmare !

Ebay is a resource i have occasion to utilise in the past . Recently i needed to topup my Skype A/c through Paypal . Success was reported by email and the adjustment on the account balance .

Over recent years i have been well supplied by sponsors with ALL that the normal Race Bike requires . Of course over that period , i have made occasional visits to Ebay , to keep an eye on prices . Racers do not utilise " SPD type Pedals" , so that is one item i have been thinking about replacing , as the foot will occasionally slip out on a climb , disrupting the cadence .

Thinking that all was in order , when i accessed both my Ebay A/c and Paypal A/c , i proceeded to bid on a few items . Missed a few & won a few , nothing of great importance and certainly not a great amount of money . Being in Austria and my receiving point in the UK , not being available whilst they are over here skiing , i advised the " sellers " , that delivery should be held back for two weeks .

Friday i proceeded to access the paypal so as to PAY ALL transactions  , at the same time , each entry on a BANK A/c being a source of Finance to the " FATCATS " these days . Don't you feel sorry for them now that their " Bonuses " are Capped/ limited to equal a Year's Salary ? Finding that the PAYPAL access was blocked , i fired off a request for assistance .

This morning  i awoke to their response :

In your case, your card issuer or bank is declining the temporary authorization charge for your Visa debit card ending in XX21. To immediately resolve this, I'd encourage you to contact your card issuer or bank and speak to someone who deals with online transactions to find out exactly why they declined your card and whether you can use this card for your payments. Please note that the general customer service at your bank may not be able to provide specific information. You will need to contact the department in charge of online payments to obtain this information (which is your card issuer’s "Online Authorisation Department").  "

YES , my bank , is going to get out of bed , on Saturday , to deal with this inconvenience !

T-Mobile , a taste of SH*t for the NEW YEAR !

Every so often you come across a bunch of Smart Ass#s ! For many years now  ihave  used the same " Cell/ Mobile Telephone number on a " Pay as you go " Tariff . Not cheap , but since it works throughout Europe , had to live with this expense . Bought a blackberry in April , with the intention of ridding myself of the " motorola devise " bought at " 2006 Winter Olympics " in Torino . Kept that device going until October/November as it has a bunch of " photos " that won't download , or transfer by calling another Cell/mobile device .

When i changed the " Telephone chip " across , i don't recall anything that " Opened the Internet " ? Seems that each 10 euro installment made to the account in December , has disappeared  and only thanks to the assistance of a friend and his patience , was i able to find out from " T-Mobile " how they would have continued to treat me had i not had his help . During the period 16th December to this date , i have had no need to call out , but when i tried to send Text /SMS , each time being an " Emergency " , i was deprived of that resource ! Thank goodness i was not broken down at the side of the road in a snowstorm !

Here is the promised advertising of the  " Email to T-Mobile " which i am now going to have to ask Alex to send since i didn' t answer the German Language Questions correctly !

Being STOLEN from by a Company that used to Sponsor " Drug Using Cycle Racers " , comes as no surprise !When i found out today that the money that i put into a " Blackberry " that i was sold without " Internet " connection was in ACTUAL FACT CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET , i was surprised !

I bought this " blackberry " in April 2012 , and started to use it in November 2012 , when it had about Four Euros Credit . I was unaware why that money disappeared , so went to " OMV Tankstelle " in Brixleggon 18th december , to put 10 euros on the Account . The lady showed me that it was topped up to 10.08 euros( Voucher 18 dec #07443482365274 ) .

27th December i get Text/SMS from my sister telling me of difficulties with their flight at Manchester airport , but , i cannot reply , there is no credit on the phone ( Now advised "Internet seems to have  turned on ) . Not understanding what has happened , i go to the Kramsach Polizei , where there is a Lady Officer who speaks excellent english . She phones the OMV people , who remember that they assisted me , confirms that the credit was made .

Nothing can be done other than go to " M Preis Supermarket " , across the road from Polizei , and buy another 10 euros( Voucher#120327775979 ) , which again is confirmed by voice and visual means .

1st January 2013 my Sister sends SMS/Text , requiring answer , cannot send the SMS/Text i prepare ( now know , NO MONEY on the phone again  ); once again , personal problems , created for ALL !

TODAY i go to the " telephone shop " in Jenbach , to ask for their help to contact Your " NO HELP DEPT. " for assistance ! Not having bought vouchers from them , i get the " FLICK ( being polite about their rudeness and lack of suggestions of how to solve the problem ) ".

Visited with an Austrian friend , home from work , ill and he spends 25minutes waiting for the first assistance , then after transfer/shuffle involving more time he connects with a person who is able to tell him my details from the computer . He is amazed that this info is there , since this is a " Pay as you Go phone "! My friend is told that the " Monies " rendered have been " Swallowed by the Internet " !

Asked to rectify the situation , the operator tells him that they cannot do anything !

HOW THIS CAME ABOUT , i don't know ! WHAT i do know , is that i am being " Shafted "by an organisation without ANY SCRUPLES ! When your operator can look at the Computer screen and see that there is something WRONG , and not offer any way to resolve the issue , there is no other choice , but to publicise this matter !

With a " Blog " , that is read worldwide , i am able to inform the Community , of the ATTITUDE , that pervades your organisation !

Of course , you are making money by the " bucketload " , possibly , i am not the only "SUCKER " that has been " Shafted " in this manner !

Everything you read here , is loaded into the " Blog " , i guess , i can kiss my money " Goodbye "but then you wouldn't " Help an old man with a white walking stick " across the street either ! Stealing sweets from " little children " would be about your level of social behaviour ?

As regards my phone , looks like  " Skype " , from now on , which limits what i can do for " Behinderten Sport "!

WHY are you , my readers , being advised of this matter ?

Simply because TOO MANY PEOPLE , do not fight back when they get " RIPPED OFF "!

Do you check the ribbon at the " Cash Desk " of the Supermarket , as you load your groceries , I DO ! If an item is advertised on the shelf at a PRICE , i do not expect to pay MORE , at the checkout ! Occasionally you can get home , find a mistake and go back , but very rarely will the vendor cooperate !

When i choose to buy something , i expect to get full value , getting home and finding a mistake , means a return journey .

In 1973 , i bought a " Transister Radio/Cassette Player " in Singapore , carried it out of the shop , onto the Aircraft and opened the package , in the U.K. , what was there was not what i bought !  Seems that in handing the item and monies to the assistant to be packed correctly , they did the shuffle . Returning through Singapore , i had one thing in mind , exchanging for the correct item , since they would not refund any of the money !

 In a restaurant in Rome during November 1980 , i did not return the menu , but when the bill arrived there was a considerable difference , only resolved when the Policia arrived and saw the differences . So much for a pleasant trip , escaped to Vienna by the next train . Tourism in Italy in the Winter , was for the Plucky ! Watched a German being sandwiched near the Vatican , earlier in the day , Pocket picked , wallet gone ! Asked him to follow the Gypsy Woman carrying the child , whilst i found Policia , but he was not too keen about a confrontation , she was the winner , away scot free to succeed again elsewhere .

Cheated by Banks also , even had my " signature forged " , by Bank Staff , but that is another series of stories , that could cause your hair to stand on end .

CHRISTMASES PAST

With it being the festive season I have been giving Skype a bit of a thrashing. Amazing to be talking at a computer and making a connection with people unseen for years. Raking over memories brings to mind old friends not thought of in years and with that visual flashbacks to where you were in those days and the weather experienced; social occasions and participants; food eaten at home, restaurants, other peoples homes whilst visiting to enjoy their hospitality . Also visitors staying through the holiday period and how they were entertained and the experiences they enjoyed particularly their youngsters. Time marches on and one wonders what life changes are coming next and what preparations need to be made to meet the challenges posed.

Each day I continue to maintain fitness levels that could be higher, by either outside walking or inside with the row machine , weights, and skipping rope. Another day passes without snow which last year was on the doorstep in late November. Not really interested in driving to the forest to find forestry roads for ski touring which are a bit isolated when there is a piste nearby. Also it is necessary to get in a few days on the farm paddock practising technique before going to steeper climbs, regardless of fitness there will always be muscles that are overlooked as you exercise. You only have to change saddles to know how the body reacts to change. As mentioned before the rear end does not like to experience long periods when introduced to a new shape.





One Christmas comes to mind,1995, I dressed in my tuxedo and skied Kitzsteinhorn on Christmas day, the ski patroller that I met at the top of the first ski T bar was amazed. Lawrence had worked down under as a ski patroller so was happy to practice his English whenever I showed up at their lunch room. Each visit was accompanied with a sample of Schnaps donated for services rendered by him and the team. Other lift workers plied me with coffee and other refreshments in their huts or control rooms at the chairlifts on a daily basis so it was an opportunity to brighten their day. Lunch that day was in the restaurant and I joined some ski instructors who regularly ate there. Well the staff were used to seeing me in the self serve so it was an occasion to be in this area. Anyway whoever picked up the bill, thank you once again . Photos of the day are in my collection but how I upload them to the computer is beyond my current expertise.

Christmases in Sydney have been at a variety of locations with on one occasion my brother visiting from Melbourne with his family . A bit of a squeeze with the two youngsters camping in the lounge. They were thrilled as youngsters are to be on the road and after leaving Sydney they were going to Queensland to visit and thrill more people with their enthusiasm. A very hot day took the party onto the balcony for the sitdown smorgesboard , another new experience for them.

Another Christmas comes to mind when I was living in a house in Sydney at Artarmon,1979, last of the single days . The morning was a run with the “Hash House Harriers” which started cloudy but warmed up with a run through the Rocks and Downtown Sydney‘s deserted streets back to the rocks before travelling back over the coat hanger (bridge ) to share Christmas with friends.

Tragedy for others interrupted one Christmas with friends as we learned of the devastation brought to Darwin by Cyclone Tracy. My friends had connections there so the news was worrisome.

I was fortunate to be at a complete family gathering in 1993 when my parents had their last Christmas as a couple. The house was crowded as six offspring and their partners and children were on hand. It was a full sitdown table laden with the best on offer in the way of food and drink. A day to be cherished.

How different each occasion can be. Each of us will have different experiences this Christmas. There are people out there who will have had a good year and others that have packed their life with service to others and will be in rotten circumstances as partners, family or friends are no longer there to share the experience .






VOLUNTEERING their services, there is a class of citizen in every community that deserves recognition and praise. These unselfish , caring , unstoppable ,supporting and empowering individuals are heroes rarely recognised for leaving their families and friends to help others. There is rarely recognition for their contribution to society though a few are on the Queens list or on CNN/heroes to you all my thanks and heartfelt wishes for the festive season. Premier Mike Rann of Sth Australia tweeted his thanks today Christmas day , which prompts this late addition.

Reading the Timesonline yesterday I was amazed to read that the British government awarded itself £130m in bonuses but also saved £20m by cancelling troop training exercises. The minister/s and civil servicem personnel involved need to live and work in Wootton Bassett so that they can stand bareheaded in all weathers with the locals who honour the constant passing of returning service personnel. Whilst working in the comfort of whitehall these mongrels are neglecting the basics of human necessities , the right to survive unscathed the visit to harms way. This is not the 19th century when the British troops were in Afganistan or in the 1st WW trenches in France where they were treated as “cannon fodder”. These people are Professionals and in every other business are provided the tools and training to do their job.

Ask “Help 4 Heroes” how many in their care would have been saved had there been the basic training they seem to have been continually denied. Every service person in harm’s way works 24/7/365 to protect their colleagues and themselves. Recently I tweeted @thejointstaff to remind him not to tell people where he is going next as the recent story of “the hacked drones” emphasies the savvy of the opposition. Mr Gordon Brown whilst your recent visit to the troops was commendable, it was selfish as you are a high value target (each & every service person also) which means if there had been an incident others would have suffered also.

Each day I train on the rowing machine and I have to constantly remind myself of technique, service personnel are in that constant awareness zone 24/7/365.

Wishing them all whether Anzac , US or Nato members a Safe and festive period and a Safe return to their family , friends and civilization. To the family of the fallen the “RSL/Australia has a special saying “AT THE GOING DOWN OF THE SUN , WE WILL REMEMBER THEM.

God bless you all for your loss and sacrifice lets hope it was not in vain.
