And 6 Months LATER ? NOTHING ?

LAME DUCK President Obama , has seen about 5000 more US Citizens slaughtered as Congress refuses to assist in the means to introduce " Gun Control "! These past few days have seen the Citizens of Newtown , read the names of those lost through " Gun related Violence ", including TOO MANY Law Enforcement Personnel !

 There was some talk of the President issuing " Executive Orders " to achieve some of the necessary changes in the US Gun Culture . Not being a US Citizen , thus at risk , i have not been following the daily reports in tthe Media . However European News Reports contain enough Horror stories of Children killing their siblings and reports of Gun Merchants creating Weapons exclusively for the use of minors , to yet a general sense of the CHAOS that currently exists in the USA !

 After viewing the Sandy Hook Massacre and then seeing a " Shamefaced President " , quite obviously distressed with Powerful Emotions . Was he aware then , of how powerless , his actions were going to be ?

During that week the Media was full of the rhetoric of both sides of " Gun Control Issues " , indeed the NRA  people were shown up for what they are , totally uninterested in the WELFARE , of any but the shareholders of the Weapons manufacturers . Would it be needed for their Loved Ones to be VICTIMS of Gun Violence  , for them to see ANYONEELSE'S point of view ? Sad if that is the situation needed .

Don't hold your breathe ! With the Mid Term Elections looming , and the costs of " posturing & preening , these days , YOUR beloved Candidates are oNCE AGAIN queueing for the dollars at the doors of the " DEATH MERCHANTS "!

The NRA !

President Obama appears to be reeling from one crisis to another at present , so i hope whilst he is in Northern Ireland , this week , he will reflect on the fact that , giving a Presidential Medal , Postumously to a Sandy Hook Teacher's Family , in no way mitigates their loss ! Good Intentions , though they may be , are nothing in the face of the EVIL , that uncontrolled Gun Ownership can inflict on the  undeserving VICTIMS in every type of Community in the USA .

DURING this same period , Cycling Sport has been subjected to CHANGE of a sort . We have seen the Oprah Interview Farce and as a side show the goings on at the UCI . Yesterday 15th June , in Dublin , phat mc quaid , was told by his Homeland Cycling Federation , that he is UNWORTHY of their continued support . As he seeks the 3rd , four year term in office as President of the UCI , he followed his previous path to Cycling Ireland , seeking the nomination . Due to a procedural defect , the original nomination was withdrawn , but an Extraordinary General Meeting was set in process , thus allowing the Total Irish cycling Community to intruct their Club Committees in how THEY wished their views be made known .

The EGM resulted in a refusal to Nominate , but whilst this result may look close , of the 70+ votes for phat , many were from delegates , with the right to make 2 votes . In a democracy , it is usually one man/club , one vote , but the C.I. constitution , like so many other Cycling Federations , contain anomalies that allow the "Old guard " to protect their overbloated opinion of their worth ,  Thanks to the hard work of the few , with the " Interests of the Many " in mind , the previously unassailabe ramparts , were thrown down .

National Cycling Federations need to take note of this result , since there are many people out there thinking of their OWN Interests rather than those of their members . There is prestige in being a member of a Nat. Fed. , BUT , disregard YOUR Members , at YOUR PERIL !

Presently , there is now a " Two Horse Race " , both are long serving Members of the UCI Hierachy , thus will turn to those others of the 42 " Voting Delegates " for their support , to fulfill their aspirations . each has been reported as using OUTSIDE PR Organisations . WHO is paying for these EXTRA sources of assistance ? Why , when ONLY 42 delegates , can cast a VOTE , is it necessary to expend vast sums of money , even if it comes out of THEIR OWN POCKET ? That's a LAUGH , is it not ? 

WHAT IS NEEDED IS A NEW FACE , devoid of prior history and ambitions , perhaps so naive that there are no favours to be returned !

Not knowing much of this person , i would assume that , as a Mother with a young family , living in Australia and heading up an Important Foundation , Tracey Gaudry ( @GaudryT ) , has enough on her plate . Being elected to lead the Oceania Division of UCI in the past few months , she will have only recently been involved with the other 42 Voting Delegates . As a woman , she will have ideas about Women's Cycling , thus would have been quized by those interested in her views . With her attendence at Bergen , these past few days , there would have been the inevitable social gatherings , and as bees seek pollen , she would have found herself surrounded by the majority of the male delegates , seeking the views of a new member of their fraternity . 

Reports have been flying in Forums of a " Report " being introduced at this UCI Meeting from the USA , as well as a " Motion of NO CONFIDENCE in the UCI President " ! Currently , none of these items have found their way into the Media , but they will surface , eventually .

Today UCI has a " lame duck President " , who in recent days has disparaged ALL around him , thinking he is sounding " Presidential "!  phat , you have got to be kidding ! SHOULD you survive , into a 3rd term as President , WHO is going to work with you ?

If i was the UCI Admin Manager , and had the Power , i would be emptying phat's desk and changing the locks , so as to avoid ANYMORE damage , that is about to result from the next months of this wounded critter lashing out at ANY that stand in his way forward . The Media are going to be treated to a talkfest , with previously prohibited journos , now being sought so as to gain " Headlines " , in  fact any advantage good or bad , as long as it gets before the public .

EXECUTIVE ORDERS

Vice President Joe Biden , was shown on CNN , today , as he had called a press opportunity , to remind the US Population , that Barack Obama was working towards changing the GUN PROBLEM ! During the Press call , he outlined the determination , that President Barack Obama has to make changes . Not only was the V.P. seeking to achieve consensus through meeting both sides of the " Gun Control Debate ", he made it clear , that if Legislation would not be effective , President Barack Obama would initiate change by the use of " Executive Orders "!

About the 19th December , i posted in " SkippyBlogging " the post "Mr President , YOU'VE BLOWN IT !"
In that post i reminded people that a President , had the weapon of " Executive Orders " , to get legislation done , that Congress would not get done for a variety of reasons . Frankly i am disappointed that this weapon was not used , at that time . The Public would have applauded this action .

As i write this post , Christiane Amanpour of CNN , is discussing " Gun Control "! She stated that since the " Sandy Hook Outrage , 643 people have lost their lives , as of today ! Last night , Anderson Cooper on CNN's 360 show , that number was revealed as 588 . The daily Death average is reported as 34 Deaths ! Can anyone accept this as reasonable ? Jon Stewart the comedian , was shown doing an impersonation of the NRA Spokesperson , Lapierre , Hilarious ! That NRA initiative , of arming the Teachers and training them , to use fire arms , in the proximity of Children , is nothing short of laughable !

Piers Morgan continues to provide a platform for each side of the " Gun Control Debate " to issue their version of the 2nd Amendment . Being shouted down by the passionate ( read " off their brain ) gun owners , even challenged to a boxing match in recent days ! the only problem i have with this show , is that i generally find it on in the middle of the night , due to broken sleep some nights . If the subject was not so serious , i would think it was a comedy show , similar to the Jay Leno Show .

During this program , Jerrimiah Healy , Mayor of Jersey City , revealed the success of their 4th " Buy Back Campaign " , last weekend . Local Citizens contributed the funds required to finance this initiative and the photos of the weapons , turned in , demonstrated their good sense . Whatever use can a member of the public , put a semi auto rifle to ?

Discussed also , were the various " loopholes " that Gun Shows create . You can take a Gun to a Swap Meet , find a buyer , take the cash and then walk off , not knowing that the weapon will be used in a massacre or a Criminal enterprise ? There is no need for any paperwork currently ?  When a person goes to a shop , they are confronted with a variety of regulations . Each State lays out a different formula , that the vendor has to comply with , as they sell their products .

The New York State Governor has revealed a cataloge of changes in " Gun Control Measures that he wants the State to Adopt .Some advocates state that they want to see Humans allowed the " Same Rights that are afforded Deer and Game in their Legislation . A great pity that months after the Sandy Hurricane , there are so many , in New York State , awaiting assistance to rebuilding their Homes . Shelter and electric power is a Daily necessity and if the State are unable to deliver these essentials , how much more difficult will it be to Upgrade Gun Control Legislation ?

So many people are aware that , there is a register of THOSE NOT ALLOWED to own weapons , under the control of the FBI ! In any other Civilised Country , the " Weapons Register " contains the details of ALL WEAPONS , perhaps also the quantity of AMMO ! Many countries even require the weapon holder , to pay a licence fee , varying fees relating to the type of weapon . Yes , creating the register , will take a lot of money and TIME , but there are National Guard Units throughout the country , if not other Community associations that can help take up the information to be introduced to the NATIONAL REGISTER !

Need i remind readers that there was a time when " Black Citizens were counted as 2/3rd person , that amendment was replaced ! This is the 21st Century and has it become so HARD that the 2nd Amendment cannot be replaced by an Amendment , MORE SUITED , to the needs of US Citizens ikn the 21st century ? YES , hunting is a Great Sport that should be encouraged , BUT ; is it sporting to take a semi auto rifle to gun down Deer or other Wildlife ?  Would you when arroused in your home , by movement downstairs , take an assault weapon to investigate ? Your wife would be really impressed with the destruction wrought , when you have an accidently discharge , destroying the decor , if not injuring or maiming the victim of the decision to open fire ?

One thought that i cannot seem to find anywhere , is WHO is responsible for the Expenses caused when a " Thug/ Mentally Disturbed Person shoots up the neighbourhood or Kills People ? Some States have requirements to " Control the Storage " of weapons but do they require Insurance for the damage done by these weapons ? Vehicles have to have Insurance before they can enter the traffic , perhaps " Road Tax " , as they do in the United Kingdom ?  When a Car is Sold by a Car Retailer , i feel sure they check that the documentation is in order ? Can you imagine a Car Dealer , letting you drive off , without paying ? Some perhaps care little for anything other than the cash , but i am sure most Dealerships would ensure that the " Road Tax and Insurance was in order , if only to prevent their complicity to an accident ?

We all know that Guns can be bought at " Gun Shows " , so why can't it be required that a purchaser , be required to produce the Insurance Papers as well as the Appropriate Gun License , before they complete the Purchase ? YES , we now have a way to ensure that the person , is a known quantity , not a " Felon " or someone that is on the " Register of those Barred from Owning a Weapon "! Could it be that these simple steps are too difficult for the Various States to implement ?

With Unemployment being what it is in the USA , i feel certain that many people , could be found work in creating the necessary additions , to State Administration Bureaus ? In registering for Gun Licenses at present , people are happy to pay the necessary fees . Could it not be possible , to levy fees , based on the Type , Calibre and size of the Magazines of a Weapon ? The user pays principle would apply , so States would now have the additional income , to meet the cost of the resources , needed to implement these procedures ? Whether the State has an Insurance Company or it is Private Enterprise , there would be " Discounts " offered to Gun Holders , who provide , the appropriate " Safe Storage " , for their weapons . An inspection of the " Storage " would mean time and effort by two separate Authorities to ensure people do not circumvent the legislative requirements !

Vice President Joe Biden appears to be the Comsumate Politician , brokering his influence with ALL sides of the Debate but ENOUGH is ENOUGH !

President Barack Obama needs to issue the EXECUTIVE ORDERS , get the job done , get GUN CONTROL Measures in place !

CONSPIRACY ? UNWILLING to ACT ? WHEN DOES THE SLAUGHTER STOP ?

140 Million background checks since 1998 ? That averages 10 million each year ! BUT , at secondary markets , THERE ARE NO CHECKS !  Even on the Internet , you can buy weapons without Background Checks !This is where " Criminals "and those on the " Register " of those  barred from owning/buying Weapons , defeat the " AUTHORITIES "! Why are Congress NOT ACTING to close this Loophole ?

Piers Morgan Tonight , the CNN Programme , suppply most of the details , i am putting forth here . Each night , since Friday last , i am seeing a " Shouting Match " , seems like he chooses " Controversial Guests ", that either provoke or are provoked , net result , conflicting points of view . As the Host of the programme , he gets the last word , but does seem to try to keep the subject ON TOPIC ! Occasionally , as the guest answers in a round the houses manner , he jumps in with a new question in the effort to get them back on track , this tends to irritate those tthat are dissembling .

Since Columbine , there have been 31 " Outrages ", not sure how many years are involved , but President Obama , has had to comfort the families after 4 " Massacres " during his Term in Office .Currently it is reported , that 34 people are being Killed , DAILY ! Does this seem to many , to YOU ? It appears very few , when you realise there are 51000 " Legal Gun Outlets ( shops/stores ) , however , how many " Secondary Markets " and " Internet Outlets " are selling Weapons ?

In the Title , i use " Conspiracy " in a deliberate way ! Last night i came across a " Change.org Petition " . This petition  was created by a 4th Grade Child and her girl friend from NEWTOWN,CT ! When i signed on , it had reached  1240+ , during the evening , on revisits , i saw it climbing rapidly . This morning , i tried to refresh , so as to see the Total .

In addressing the Nation , last night , President Obama , advised the WORLD , that he was aquainted with recent statistics regarding recent " Gun Deaths "!

A Law Enforcement Officer , a mother , shot to death !

TWO "LEO " in Topeka , shot to death !

3 People in an Alabama Hospital , shot to death !

A CHILD , whose life support was turned off yesterday , SHOT TO DEATH !

there were others , i missed the rapid details , i was too stunned to absorb the details .

Last night " SKY News " , ran a special programme on the US Gun Control Issues , some " faces " i had seen before , many of the incidents mentioned therein , i had heard about elsewhere .

One of the " Guests " on Piers Morgan Tonight show , which i see at 1200 GMT , each day , was " Jeanne Assam " a LEO , who was in a Church , when a " shooter " returned for a second " Massacre " on those premises . Luckily for some of the survivors , she was able to wound him , but then , he tried to continue spraying bullets , even after being warned that " I will kill you , if you do not put that weapon down !" With no choice , her next shots were fatal . Not sure what carnage was created before she arrived on that unfortunates scene , BUT , thanks to her LEO Training , many people were saved .

We are in talks with the Brady Campaign to coordinate a Million Mom March here in Connecticut.  There are many logistical challenges, not the least of which is that we don’t even _have_ a CT chapter yet!  So, be patient.  In the meantime, we are partnering with CAGV for a MARCH IN MARCH to take place on the 3 month anniversary of this tragedy, Thursday March 14th, 2013.   So, Mark your Calendars to March in Hartford with us.  We will be arranging transportation, food and everything else (except babysitters!) to make this as easy as possible to get at least 2,000 local moms on our Capitol’s steps.  Congressman Jim Himes has promised his full support and says it’s time for our level, the Grass Roots level, to make a change.  If we can get at least 2,000 Moms there, change will happen.   Let’s put some action behind our words, starting with you.  It’s worth a day off from work.

Wearing a " bullet proof vest " , John Howard , Prime Minister of Australia , days after the " Port Arthur Massacre " , appeared in public ! He introduced Federal Government Legislation that created  measures that diminished " GUN OWNERSHIP " in Australia . Since that time , there has been a dramatic fall in " Shooting outrages "!

WILL it take President Obama , appearing in Congress before Christmas , to convince the US Legislators to ACT and pass BACK into LAW , measures that were repealed from the Federal Statute Books in 2004 ? YES " Powerless , because there are those that working with the " National Rifle Association " think that they know better than their fellow Citizens ! Vested Interests support the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution , created Two Centuries ago in a Different World ! Did the Forefathers of the USA decide that the Constitution they created , would be cast in STONE ? Unchangable throughout the Centuries ? Those brave people were creating the START of their Nation , making decisions that would shape their future . Had they known that this Century , would be marred by DEATH of their Young successors , would they have chosen the words , that the " NRA " , spend millions of Dollars defending ? Thereare reports that " NRA " received $200 MILLION in campaign fees in the past year ! How many of these  " donors " , are reconsidering their actions ?

Can you believe that supporters of NRA , arrived on the Piers Morgan Show of CNN and shout down the presenter last week ? Appearing once again last night , there was calmer discussion , but there was no softening of their entrenched position . Are the members of NRA , willing to be part of the 48000 , that lose their lives in the next years ?  That is the number of Deaths , that Mayor Bloomberg of New York , predicts , will Die as a result , of the Current Legislative " Stalemate "? How many Lost Lives , will be Children ? What will they have in common with the other " Victims " of past Outrages ? Wrong place at the Wrong Time , simple as that !

Many Politicians wish to see Stricter Gun Control , but NRA funds 4 out of 5 Politicians , that support their ACTION ! It is "Tantamount to Suicide " for a Politician , to go about any Legislation that does anything other than reduce the access to weapons for those wishing to Buy , ANY TYPE of WEAPON !

The visitor to the Piers Morgan Show , Sunday Night , was proud of the fact , that there is a register , of those " BANNED from owning a Weapon "! For him , it could be anyone else with his views , it is acceptable , that anyone buy any type of a weapon , without restriction ! Did i get that wrong ? As far as i am aware , i understand American English and my ears are in working order ! WHY is there no National Register , so that people from the Stricter States , cannot make a short trip Interstate , and buy the Weapon of their choice , without restriction ?

Debating " GUN CONTROL " is a no win situation , one where i have no involvement , since i doubt that i will be visiting the USA , any time soon . For those that live in the USA , they regard their Constitution with PRIDE ! There are safeguards to changing it's Articles , as there should be ! BUT , we are now in the third Century since those " Forefathers " gathered to fight for their Freedom from Great Britain ! They envisaged many things , but i doubt that they forsaw " Pax America " , or " Deranged individuals " gunning down their " Fellow Citizens "?

There are enough Heartbreaking Tragedies created by Nature , that we DO NOT NEED , the efforts of those that are seeking " Notoriety "! Would it be possible for US Congress , to legislate for the Perpetrators to be UNNAMED in the Media ? Certainly Law Enforcement would need to be aware , of who they are dealing with , should they not Suicide , but there should be a way to deny these " perpetrators " their notoriety ?

Saturday , i created a means , whereby " Jo Public " could show their outrage , regarding the " GUN CONTROL situation "  but though a handful have visited the blogpost mentioned therein , only ONE person has supported my Initiative .

DO I CARE ? NO !

Two other Petitions regarding Cycling have been ignored also . So what is new here ?

Were i Barack Obama , i would be looking at the " Terms of the Government  Bills " , introduced into the Australian and British Parliaments ! Using them , he could direct his Staff to create , in days , the necessary Bills to be introduced to Congress , IMMEDIATELY !

The greatest Christmas Present that Barack Obama can give to the USA , this year is " THE RIGHT TO LIVE "!
